Madden NFL & College Football
By combining 2D and 3D animation with our passion for gaming, we created dynamic cutscenes and interactive moments for both College Football 26' and Madden NFL 26'. Join us as we bring energy, polish, and excitement to every play.
01 Background
Bringing interactive football moments to life
Devhouse combined 2D and 3D animation with game-development expertise to create dynamic cutscenes and interactive moments for College Football 26 and Madden NFL 26. The work brought presentation, technology, and player interaction together inside two of sports gaming's most recognizable franchises. Our team joined an established production environment where every moment needed to feel polished, energetic, and consistent with the broader game-day experience.
02 Challenge
Combining spectacle with responsive interaction
Create polished, responsive interactive experiences for globally recognized sports franchises while integrating closely with an established production team. The work needed to communicate the energy and spectacle of football without losing responsiveness or clarity for the player. It also required close alignment across disciplines so animation, timing, and implementation landed as a cohesive part of the final experience.
03 Constraints
Meeting the quality bar of iconic sports franchises
Every contribution needed to align with an established production pipeline and the quality bar of globally recognized sports franchises. Technical decisions had to respect existing Unreal Engine systems, team conventions, performance expectations, and a coordinated release schedule. The embedded team also needed to move efficiently within established review processes while protecting the consistency of each franchise.
04 Technical approach
Embedding animation-aware Unreal Engine developers
Devhouse embedded senior developers into the existing Unreal Engine workflow, aligned quickly on technical constraints, and iterated directly with partner stakeholders from implementation through delivery. Combining animation awareness with engineering experience allowed the team to evaluate visual quality and runtime behavior together. Frequent communication kept feedback actionable and helped each interactive moment progress from an early implementation to a release-ready result.
05 Timeline
Delivering across two coordinated sports titles
The team contributed throughout implementation and delivery for College Football 26 and Madden NFL 26. Work advanced in step with the partner's production milestones, with room for review, iteration, and polish at each stage. Staying embedded throughout the process allowed the team to respond as priorities evolved while maintaining continuity from initial development through final delivery.
06 Outcome
Delivering interactive moments at franchise quality
Dynamic interactive moments
Our team completed 110 animated reveals across 2 games over the course of a year.
Multi-year engagement
Cultivated a relationship with a AAA Studio for a multi-year engagement. (Contract continued for College Football 27' & Madden NFL 27')
07 Lessons Learned
Aligning animation and engineering from the start
Close collaboration and early alignment on technical constraints allowed the embedded team to deliver franchise-quality work without disrupting the partner's production rhythm. Bringing animation and engineering perspectives together early reduced ambiguity and made later polish more focused. The engagement reinforced how much momentum a senior team can create when it communicates directly and works within the same tools, milestones, and quality standards as its partner.
